Let's consider the present tense of a regular "ar" verb.
To determine the correct forms of a verb, we start with its infinitive form.
The infinitive form of the verb meaning (to walk) in Spanish is caminar.

Now we take off the -ar ending:
caminar - ar = camin

Now we add on one of the present tense endings: o, as, a, amos, áis, an

camin + (ending) --> camino, caminas, camina, caminamos, camináis, caminan

The different forms of the verb caminar are shown in the table below.

Present tense forms of caminar

yo camino (I walk) nosotros (as) caminamos (we walk)
tú caminas (you walk) vosotros (as) camináis (you walk)
Ud./él/ella camina (you/he/she walks) Uds./ellos/ellas caminan (you all/they walk)

Sentences with caminar

Yo camino despacio. - I walk slowly.
Tú caminas muy rápido. - You walk very fast.
Ella no puede caminar. - She can't walk.
Él camina al museo. - He walks to the museum.
Él camina a la librería. - He walks to the bookstore.
Nosotros caminamos a la panadería. - We walk to the bakery.
Ellos caminan a la biblioteca. - They walk to the library.
Ella camina a la casa de Paola. - She walks to Paola's house.
Ellas caminan a la escuela. - They (f) walk to school.
