The Spanish verb "jugar" (to play) is NOT regular.
However it does follow the pattern for -ar verb endings.
The letter "u" changes to "ue" when conjugated.
Jugar is a stem changing verb with the pattern: u > ue
The present tense forms of jugar are shown in the table.

  • NB: This verb is a "shoe verb" and is irregular but
    in a predictable pattern. The forms in bold make the shape
    of a shoe and these are the only forms in which the stem changes.

    Notas para el Tutor

    • Tutor: the verb JUGAR changes from U to UE in the first 3 persons singular and in the 3rd person plural.
