yo soy (I am) nosotros (as) somos (we are)
eres (you are) vosotros (as) sois (you all are)

Ser is used to indicate equivalence or identity:

Alberto es médico. - Alberto is a doctor.

María es una buena persona. - Maria is a good person.

Ramón es colombiano. - Ramon is Colombian.

Ser is used to indicate origin:

Diego es de Perú. - Diego is from Peru.
Este tapete es de México. - This rug is from Mexico.

Ser is used to talk about time:

son las dos - It's two.
es la una y media - It's one thirty.

Sentences expressing equivalence or identity

La sopa es buena. - The soup is good.
María es alta. - Mary is tall.
Tu eres guapo. - You are handsome.
Pedro es español. - Peter is Spanish.
El libro es rojo. - The book is red.
María es francesa. - Mary is French.
La casa es grande. - The house is large.
La lección es fácil. - The lesson is easy.
Tu eres muy especial. - You are very special.
Ella es feliz. - She is happy.

Mamá es americana. - Mom is American.

Sentences talking about time
es el mediodía - it's noon
es la medianoche - it's midnight
es la una - it's one o’clock
