Gramática
To make a Spanish statement or question negative,
place no in front of the verb.

Examples:
No quiero hacerlo. - I don't want to do it.
No tengo un lápiz. - I don't have a pencil.
Elena no está aquí - Elena is not here.
¿No tienes hambre? - Aren't you hungry?

Gramática
Spanish also has many other negative words that are
used with no or without it. A list of negative
words is provided below.

nada - nothing
nadie - nobody, no one
ninguno - none, no one
nunca - never
jamás - never
tampoco - neither, not either

Examples:
Nadie entiende. - Nobody understands.
Ninguna tienda tiene lo que quiero. - No store has what I want.
Nunca bebemos cerveza. - We never drink beer
Jamás te olvidé. - I never forgot you.
No lo quiero. - I don't want it.

Sentences
Ella no quiso ir a la tienda. - She didn't want to go to the store.
Juan no quiere comer verduras. - Juan doesn't want to eat vegetables.
Yo no vendí la casa. - I didn't sell the house.
Yo no estudié. - I didn't study.
Tú no quieres ir a la escuela. - You don't want to go to school.
Tú no viste la película. - You didn't see the movie.
Hace una semana que no les vi a mis padres- I haven't seen my parents in a week.
Ellas no hablaron ayer. - They did not speak yesterday.

Nadie vino a la fiesta. - Nobody came to the party.
Ninguno llegó a tiempo. - No one arrived on time.
No quiero nada. - I don't want anything.
Yo nado, pero nunca después de comer. - I swim but never after eating.
Tú comiste carne, pero nunca verduras. - You ate meat but never vegetables.
Rosa tampoco llegó. - Rosa didn't arrive either.

Notes for the Tutor

The student should repeat these simple sentences to practice vocabulary and improve pronunciation.
The tutor should ask the student questions to which the student replies negatively.
