Use of the infinitive form

Gramática
Many verbs can be used with the infinitive form of other verbs.
In these cases, only the first verb is conjugated!

Example:
Deseo estudiar más español. - I wish to study more Spanish.
Necesito descansar. - I need to rest.
Necesito regresar al hotel. - I need to return to the hotel.

The verb tener requires a "que" between the verb and the infinitive form.
Again, only the first verb is conjugated!

Example: tener que + infinitive
Yo tengo que estudiar. - I have to study.

The verb hay is like the verb tener.
It requires a "que" between the verb and the infinitive form.
It is used to express an impersonal obligation.

Example: hay que + infinitive
Hay que estudiar. - One must study.

The verb ir is NOT like the verbs tener and hay.
It requires an "a" between the verb and the infinitive form.
It is used to talk about the future.

Example: ir a + infinitive
¿Vas a estudiar? - Are you going to study?

Sentences
Quiero vivir en Nueva York. - I want to live in New York.
Necesito cambiar dinero. - I need to exchange money.
Quiero visitar Tikal. - I want to visit Tikal (mayan ruins).
Necesito enviar un mensaje. - I need to send a message.
Pienso viajar a Venezuela. - I'm planning to travel to Venezuela.
Pienso estudiar en Caracas. - I am planning to study in Caracas.

Tú tienes que comer todos los días. - You have to eat every day.
Usted tiene que pagar el alquiler. - You have to pay the rent.
Él/ella tiene que trabajar. - He/She has to work.
Nosotros tenemos que desayunar temprano. - We have to eat breakfast early.
Ustedes tienen que cambiar dinero. - You have to exchange money.
Ellos/ellas tienen que hablar con la secretaria. - They have to speak with the secretary.
Yo tengo que caminar todos días. - I have to walk everyday.

Hay que comer todos los días. - One must eat every day.
Hay que pagar la cuenta. - One must pay the bill.
Hay que trabajar. - One must work.
Hay que llegar temprano. - One must arrive early.
Hay que ser puntual. One must be punctual.
Hay que dormir. - One must sleep.

Yo voy a ayudar a María. - I'm going to help Mary.
Voy a copiar su pasaporte. - I will copy your passport.
Las muchachas van a estudiar. - The girls are going to study.
Nosotros vamos a estudiar. - We are going to study.
¿Dónde van a estudiar los muchachos? - Where are the boys going to study?
¿Vas a traer las maletas? - Are you going to bring the suitcases?
Ellas van a bajar del carro. - They're going to get out of the car.
¿Ustedes van a estudiar? - Are you all going to study?
