Overview

Quién and quiénes refer to people.

They can ask who:

¿Quién es él?
       Who is he?
¿Quién es ése?
       Who is that?
¿Quiénes son ellos?
       Who are they?

They can ask whom or whose:

¿A quién pagamos?
       Whom do we pay?
Los hombres a quienes ves son panaderos.
       The men whom you see are bakers.
¿De quién es la pipa?
       Whose is the pipe? (Whose pipe is it?)
¿De quiénes son estos juguetes?
       Whose are these toys? (Whose toys are these?)
Las mujeres de quienes hablo son españolas.
       The women of whom I speak are Spanish.
