Gramática
The verb gustar (to like) is an impersonal verb and is not like other verbs. It is most frequently used in the third person singular or plural and is accompanied by the indirect object pronouns. The subject of the sentence determines whether the singular or plural of the verb is used. The modification "a alguien" is used emphatically and as clarification in ambiguous cases.

Me gustó la obra de teatro. - I liked the play.
¿Te gustó la casa? - Did you like the house?
A él le gustó el carro rojo. - He liked the red car.
A ella le gustó el jardín. - She liked the garden.
A nosotros nos gustó el perrito. - We liked the puppy.

Me gustó la comida del restaurante. - I liked the restaurant’s food.
¿Entonces te gustó Italia? - So, did you like Italy?
¿Te gustó la canción? - Did you like the song?
A ella le gustó el regalo de mamá. - She liked mom's gift.

  • Suggested Homework:The student should prepare 5 sentences of more using GUSTAR in the preterite. Also, the student could try to prepare sentences with ENCANTAR in the preterite since the conjugation is the same.
