When reading a review of this school, be sure to look at the date of the review because Amigos del Sol changed its location. Most positive reviews are pre-2006. The civil unrest that shutdown Oaxaca in 2006 forced Amigos del Sol to move to a much smaller location because it couldn't pay its rent since no students were enrolling. The new location is basically a small store front. If there are more than five students, it's overcrowded. The new location has no character or amenities. The school does, however, still have some good teachers. Since there aren't very many students, if you sign up for a group class, you'll probably end up with private lessons for the cost of a group class. I'm not too sure what the future holds for Amigos del Sol. It has a dilemma. The school needs to relocate to a bigger and better location, but it first needs to attract more students.
