I have taken classes during 5 weeks at wiracocha school. The school is beautifully situated and in the center of charming cusco. The classes are cheap and the staff is very friendly. Because the school is small, it feels like spending time with a family. The classes are well structured and fun. There are a lot of exercises to practise the grammar learned. I can highly recommend this school!

Muchas gracias!

The teachers and administrators are very friendly and helpful (extremely) but unfortunately the standard is low. They advertised that they offer different subject areas such as medicine, business but unfortunately, this is not true! There is no organized program or text. Each teacher does whatever he or she feels like doing without even being aware of the students' level, interest etc. I went to 2 schools in Cusco - this one and Maximo nivel. Maximo is far superior!!!!

Wiracocha is a fine Spanish school, if a little expensive in comparison to some other Cusco schools. Most of the teachers are good and make the lessons enjoyable. However, the administration (owner) pays the teachers a meager sum and keeps the majority for herself. This is in the range of 25% going to the teacher, and 75% going to the owner (an unjust percentage by any standard!). Also, if you stay with a host family arranged by the school, beware the house owner Gloria (last name withheld for privacy). Myself and 3 other students were treated with disrespect and lack of privacy in her house. Myself and a previous student also had money disputes with her upon leaving. Food at her house is sub-standard and questionably healthy. Expect to be taken advantage of (financially) in various respects... if you deal with Gloria on the side with any financial matters, ensure that everything is clear, in writing, in advance. Of course, accomodation will vary from house to house, but other students reported far more favorable experiences.

The school is OK is you are a beginner and you want cheap. The teachers do not have degrees in second language acquisition. If you are intermediate/advanced speaker they won't know what to do with you. Also, they are pretty disorganized, they were never able to keep track of the number of hours I studied. Keep track of it yourself..or you will be overcharged.

The stay I had in Cusco with Wiracocha School was awesome. I learnt a lot of Spanish and enjoyed the beauty of the city. It a great place to go out and travel on weekends by bus to other places. The school itself offers a lot of entertainment and all kind of courses from beginner to experts. Also the ancient Inca language Quechua. I was accomondate in a great atmosphere and the school was centrally located. I can definitly recommend this place!

I planned a 2 month trip to Peru with the purpose of getting to know the culture and really gaining a fluency in the Spanish language, of which I already had studied for years. Although this is one of the more inexpensive schools you find online, it is still a RIP OFF. They truly overcharge for their accommodations. I was set up with a Peruvian family, or I should say an old woman who lives alone with a maid. she was never around, and never wanted to talk. My bed was a completely worn out piece of foam with dirty sheets from the last student who stayed there. She would not wash the sheets and the school did nothing to intervene. My host 'family' did not provide the promised 3 meals a day. I got no Spanish practice at home because I was always alone. There was no television so I couldn't even watch anything in spanish. at $100 per week, you might expect a bit better. I eventually found other accomodations wich were much more comfortable friendly and affordable. About $150 per month. Its very easy to find inexpensive accommodations in Peru upon arrival, but if you go through the school, they will charge the most and give you the least. Also, the school was awful! They didn't use books or any sort of curriculum. you just spent a few hours with a native speaker who is obviously under trained in teaching and unorganized. I would REALLY discourage anyone from choosing this program. It was a really bad experience for me. It cost a lot of money, and I learned the most when I finally quit my classes and went traveling on my own. PLEASE do not chose this school, the facilities are poor, there is only 2 student computers that are always in use or broken down. This is a money making scheme for the people who set up the school, and it does not provide a good education.
