Overview

The verb pedir (to request, ask for) is irregular, (e) changes to (i) in the present tense (with the exception of nosotros and vosotros). The congugation of the verb is shown in the table below.

pedir (conjugation)

yo pido (I ask for)
pides (you ask for)
Ud./él/ella pide (you/he/she ask for)
nosotros (as) pedimos (we ask for)
vosotros (as) pedís (you ask for)
Uds./ellos/ ellas piden (you all/they ask for)

Yo pido agua.
I ask for water.

Tú pides leche.
You ask for milk.

Ella pide un libro.
She asks for a book.

Ellas piden un postre.
They ask for a dessert.
