I studied for 2 weeks, with homestay program, it was just great. My teacher had a lot of pacience with me, and always found a way to give me more motivation. The familie I stayed with was very comunicative, the took me around, etc . I think this helped me a lot with my studies practicing all day long. Thanks to Gloria( teacher) and Monica(homestay).

I'm learning spanish at languagepucon right now, coming to this school by 123teach me. It was a great choice. I want to learn spanish for my traveling through southern America and they really focus on comunication, all I need to get around and talk to people, the classes are one-on-one so of course better reslts as big group syudies. All in all I'm going to learn for three weeks, and from my second week on I was in their Homestayprogramm, good help to make advances.

I had an one-week course in the end of summer/beginning of fall 2008 with Karin. Karin was absolutely unprofessional: taking a call on her cell phone during class, constantly leaving the classroom to work on the Internet and do other school business, not preparing lessons, explaining grammar points on scraps of papers, and not willing to be flexible to meet students' desires. Karin has taught for about 20 years and you can tell she is bored with her job and has lost the teaching passion. She didn't correct my pronunciation errors nor did she pay attention when I was reading text aloud. She was frustrated that I couldn't understand her and she had to write on the board. She wouldn't teach me how to structure questions nor how to develop my conversation skills. As proof to her lazy mentality was her preference to translate Spanish words into English. Teaching in the student's native language is a definitely no-no in teaching foreign language. My vocabulary is good enough for her to explain new words in simple Spanish. She rolled her eyes and sighed when I told her to only speak in English. And throughout the course, she tried to slip English into the class. Also, class lessons were unprepared and teachers improvised a lot, and sometimes she didn't meet the students' desired objectives. For one-on-one teaching, preparation is a must as well as meeting students' goals. The school is understaffed so teachers are constantly running out of classes to help walk-in clients, most of who are locals seeking English class info. Their time out of class is not made up, so again a waste of money. The school also lacks Spanish books for classroom teaching and personal enjoyment, but there are tons of English books. The homestays are hits and misses. I know a student who had a wonderful time with her family. Mine was a miss with the family having too many problem. In addition, the school overcharges for accommodations in children's rooms and to eat bread & cheese. Overall, I say save your money and find another school/program. There has to be better out there or download Podcasts in Spanish.
