 Necesitar means to need.
  necesitar is a regular -ar verb.
   To say you used to need or you needed,
    use the imperfect ending.

yo necesitaba
Ud./él/ella necesitaba
nosotros/as necesitábamos
vosotros/as necesitabais
Uds./ellos/ellas necesitaban

Sentences using necesitar in the imperfect tense

Lo necesitaba rápido.
      I was needing it fast.

Juan encontró la llave que necesitabas.
      Juan found the key that you needed.

Yo compré la medicina que María necesitaba.
      I bought the medicine that Maria needed.

Nosotros necesitábamos muchas cosas.
      We needed many things.

¿Necesitabais las sábanas?
      Did you all need the sheets?

Ustedes necesitaban comida.
      You all needed food. (formal)
