Overview

Final conjunctions belong to the subordinate conjunctions. They indicate the purpose or aim of the main sentence. A few examples are: para que, a fin de que, con objeto de, etc.

Let's look at some example sentences.

La niña va con su abuela para que la peine.
The girl goes with grandma so that she combs her hair.

Él fue a la peluquería a fin de que a Rubén le corten el pelo.
He went to the hairdresser to get a haircut for Rubén.

Te prestaré mi teléfono celular para que le puedas llamar.
I will lend you my cell phone so that you can call her.

Luis trajo una pelota para que el gato juegue.
Luis brought a ball for the cat to play with.

Lo hace a fin de que aprendas algo.
He does it on order for you to learn something.
