Bien is an adverb which describes the action performed.

buen, bueno/a, buenos/as

El alcohol es un buen desinfectante.
      Alcohol is a good desinfectant.
El profesor es muy bueno.
      The teacher is very nice.
Usted tiene muy buena visión.
      You have very good eye sight.
Las hamburguesas son muy buenas.
      The burgers are very good.

bien

Pedro baila tan bien como su hermano.
      Pedro dances as well as his brother.
¿Siente usted que no puede oír bien?
      Do you think you cannot hear well?
¡Qué bien bailas!
      You dance so well!
