Evaluation from ywsmith:

Evaluation from hjones:

I am enchanted by the chirping of the birds as I stroll to class in the morning.
Evaluation from miguel:

nice garden close to the water, friendly teachers and unique studenthouse, if you like cooking and hanging around
Evaluation from jmeza:

My daughter and I have been studying here for two weeks now. There is one teacher for each student. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. We have gone on excursions with the director to Santiago, San Juan and Santa Clarita in our after-school hours. We live with a family. Even though there is only an unlocked iron gate for a front door, our room has a lock on it. We are having a great time.
Evaluation from ranebar:

A bad experience. Instruction; some teachers conscientous and good; others seemed very bored and uninterested. Mine made little attempt to teach. Seemingly no quality control or supervision of teachers other than to make sure they were physically present. Administration; seemingly nonexistent. No one at school to meet me or take me to my host family despite repeated assurances from the school before my trip; the absence of any planned activities is a problem in this town, which has little in it to do other than hang at bars. Home stay; nice family, but almost no spanish spoken at home so little opportunity for language practice, my room was very noisy, quite dirty, and uncomfortable.
Evaluation from greoho:

This school has exceptionally good teachers; experienced, well organized, and professional with real lesson plans and teaching programs. Teachers are friendly and approachable, but this is much more than a "what do you want to talk about today" learning environment. They really know how to *teach* Spanish. We worked with 4 different teachers (one each for 2 adults and 2 children) and they were all excellent. The children's teachers, especially, did a great job of teaching our kids Spanish with games and craft projects to keep them entertained and engaged. We have since studied at a different Spanish school in a different town, and are still most impressed with Casa Rosario. The school teaching area is a lovely garden down by the lake, slightly tattered and with an air of faded grandeur, but good well-spaced teaching areas with actual whiteboards makes a wonderful learning environment. There are not a lot of organized activities and programed "fun" here, but if your focus is primarily on learning we found this to be a great school.
Evaluation from lblacklock:

Casa Rosario is an outdoor oasis with excellent one on one instruction. My family was wonderful and the food was good. I became a family member for a month, going to church, buying groceries in the market, and chatting with many of the locals. The best part about Casa Rosario is, besides the other students, no one speaks English! I have been to other Spanish schools and if the instructors know English, they start speaking it if you do not understand something. I learned quickly how to understand my instructor in Spanish because that is all she spoke. It worked! I left this school after 4 weeks with the basics of this language. You learn much about the Indigenous Mayans here; they are very traditional, even in their dress. They do not have textbooks, so you need to bring your own but they tell you that when you sign up. I still carry around the little dictionary that they recommended- it has seen better days but it is small and perfect for travelling. Vicente has become a good friend- he has founded an organization in the town to keep kids in school and to help families in adversity. I have been back to San Pedro to visit my "families" and I continue to support the valuable work that Vicente does there, both for the community and for the students learning Spanish and the culture surrounding them.

I had the best host family! Their kindness made me feel so welcome. The food they prepared was amazing and so was the hospitality.
