The verb necesitar (full conjugation) is used to indicate a need.

Yo necesito un taxi.
I need a taxi.
Yo necesito un abogado.
I need a lawyer.
Yo necesito trabajar en la oficina hoy.
I need to work in the office today.

The verb querer (full conjugation) is used to indicate a want.

Yo quiero comer.
I want to eat.
Quiero comer.
I want to eat.
Yo quiero comprar bienes raíces.
I want to buy real estate.
Yo quiero enviar ochocientos dólares.
I want to send eight hundred dollars.
