Subjunctive Mood, Present Tense  


The Present Subjunctive

This tense is formed from the first person singular of the present indicative by changing the last vowel into e for the 1st conjugation and into a for the 2nd and 3rd conjugations. These remain the ruling vowels throughout the tense.

Hablar Temer Partir
Que yo hable (That I may or shall speak) Que tema (that I may or shall fear) Que parta (that I may or shall depart)
Que tu hables Que temas Que partas
Que él hable Que tema Que parata
Que nosotros hablemos Que temamos Que partamos
Que vosotros habléis Que temáis Que partáis
Que ellos hablen Que teman Que partan
