The verb comer (to eat) is
regular in the preterite tense.

The preterite tense endings are:
í, iste, ió, imos, isteis, ieron

Preterite tense forms of comer (to eat)

yo comí (I ate) nosotros comimos (we ate)
comiste (you ate) vosotros comisteis (you guys ate)
Ud./él/ella comió (you ate, he/she ate) Uds./ellos/ ellas comieron (you all/they ate)

Other regular -er verbs
Many other -er verbs follow the same pattern.
Some common -er verbs are listed below:

beber - to drink
correr - to run
aprender - to learn
comprender - to understand

Sentences with comer
Hoy comí carne molida con salsa. - Today I ate ground meat with sauce.
Yo comí con María anoche. - I ate with Mary last night.
¿ Dónde comiste anoche? - Where did you eat last night?
¿Comiste con María anoche? - Did you eat with Mary last night?
Tú comiste frutas tropicales y legumbres. - You ate tropical fruits and legumes.
El comió antes de salir. - He ate before leaving.
El pajarito se comió todas las semillas. - The little bird ate all the seeds.
Sí, mamá. Nos la comimos toda. - Yes, mom. We ate all the food.
El día que comimos Brownies. - The day we ate brownies.

Al final comimos pescado. - At the end we ate fish.
