Step 1

Comprender means to understand
     Comprender is a regular -er verb.
   To say understood, use the preterite.

yo comprendí I understood
comprendiste you understood
Ud./él/ella comprend you/he/she understood
nosotros/as comprendimos we understood
vosotros/as comprendisteis you all understood
Uds./ellos/ellas comprendieron you all/they understood

Yo no comprendí lo que el abogado dijo.
      I didn't understand what the lawyer said.

¿Comprendiste lo que el abogado dijo?
      Did you understand what the lawyer said?

Nadie me comprendió.
      Nobody understood me.

Nosotros no comprendimos lo que el abogado dijo.
      We didn't understand what the lawyer said.

     Vosotros comprendisteis
      You all understood

Los señores no comprendieron lo que el
       abogado dijo.

     The gentlemen did not understand what the
       lawyer said.
