Gramática
The student should recall that for certain verbs, the
letter (o) changes to (ue) in the present tense
(with the exception of nosotros and vosotros).

These verbs are known as o to ue stem-changing verbs.

Present tense forms of recordar (to remember, remind)

yo recuerdo (I remember) nosotros recordamos (we remember)
tú recuerdas (you remember) vosotros recordáis (you guys remember)
Ud./él/ella recuerda (you remember, he/she remembers) Uds./ellos/ ellas recuerdan (you all/they remember)

Present tense forms of contar (to count, tell a story)

yo cuento (I count) nosotros contamos (we count)
tú cuentas (you count) vosotros contáis (you guys count)
Ud./él/ella cuenta (you count, he/she counts) Uds./ellos/ ellas cuentan (you all/they count)

Present tense forms of morir (to die)

yo muero (I die) nosotros morimos (we die)
tú mueres (you die) vosotros morís (you guys die)
Ud./él/ella muere (you die, he/she dies) Uds./ellos/ ellas mueren (you all/they die)

Sentences with recordar

No recuerdo. - I don't remember.
No lo recuerdo. - I don't remember it.
No recuerdo su nombre. - I don't remember his/her name.
El niño recuerda los números. - The young boy remembers the numbers.
Ellas recuerdan a su hermana. - They remember their sister.
Él no recuerda el incidente. - He does not remember the incident.
Él recuerda los viejos tiempos. - He remembers the old times.
Tú recuerdas a tu amigo. - You remember your friend.
Nosotros recordamos las buenas memorias. - We remember the good memories.
Mi abuela no recuerda nada. - My grandmother doesn't remember anything.

Sentences with contar
Yo cuento el dinero de Juan. - I count Juan's money
Tú cuentas una historia muy divertida. - You tell a funny story.
Tú cuentas una historia triste. - You tell a sad story.
Ella cuenta las rosas. - She counts the roses.
Ellos cuentan los perros. - They count the dogs.
Ellas cuentan las naranjas. - They count the oranges.
Ella cuenta un cuento. - She tells a fairy tale.
OK, yo los cuento otra vez. - Okay, I count them again.
Mi primo todavía no cuenta hasta diez. - My cousin still can't count to ten.
Contamos hasta 100 de cinco en cinco. - We count to 100 by fives.

Sentences with morir
El autor muere de cancer. – The autor dies of cáncer.
Mi amiga muere de envidia. - My friend dies of envy.
El muere de repente. - He dies suddenly.
El perro muere. - The dog dies.
¿En qué año muere Simón Bolivar? - In what year did Simón Bolivar die?
Simón Bolivar muere en 1830. - Simón Bolivar dies in 1830.
Las flores mueren por falta de agua. - The flowers die due to lack of water.
Los gatos mueren. - The cats die.
Las palomas mueren cada día. - Doves die every day.
El hombre muere de sida. - The man dies from aids.
