Verbs Cerrar and Perder - Theory
The verbs cerrar (to close) and perder (to lose) are irregular, (e) changes to (ie) in the present tense (with the exception of nostoros).

The congugation of the verbs cerrar and perder is shown in the table below.

Present Tense - cerrar and perder
cerrar perder
Yo cierro pierdo
cierras pierdes
Él cierra pierde
Nosotros cerramos perdemos
Ellos cierran pierden
Footnote: Yo = I, Tú = You (casual), Él, Ella, Usted = He, She, You (formal), Nosotros = We (males/mixed group), Nosotras = We (females), Ellos = They (males/mixed group), Ellas = They(females), Ustedes = You (plural)
