The verb ser (to be) is irregular in the imperfect tense.


Imperfect tense forms of ser (to be)

yo era (I used to be) nosotros éramos (we used to be)
eras (you used to be) vosotros erais (you guys used to be)
Ud./él/ella era (you used to be, he/she used to be) Uds./ellos/ ellas eran (you all/they used to be)

Sentences with ser
Mi hijo era muy rebelde. - My son used to be very rebellious.
Mi hijo era obediente. - My son used to be obedient.
Mi hijo era travieso. - My son used to be mischievous.
Yo era travieso. - I used to be mischievous.
Yo era inquieto. - I used to be fidgety.
Nosotros éramos felices cuando íbamos a la playa. - We were happy when we used to go to the beach.
Ellos eran vecinos cuando vivían en Roma. - They used to be neighbors when they lived in Roma.
Ella era la mejor estudiante cuando estudiábamos. - She used to be the best student when we were studying.
Nosotros éramos amigos. - We used to be friends.
Ellas eran maestras en la escuela. - They used to be teachers in the school.
Yo era atleta. - I used to be an athlete.
Tú eras un buen amigo. - You were a good friend.
