Dialogue 1

The Imperative mode is used to give an order, to tell someone to do something or to advise someone. This mode cannot be used with the grammatical person "yo".

El Helado - Ice Cream

Madre: ¿Qué os pasa niños?
What is wrong with you, children?

Chicos: Estamos cansados y sedientos mamá.
We are tired and thirsty mom.

Madre: Sentados aquí, y ahora ¿estáis bien?
Sit here. And now you are well?

Chicos: No, no lo estamos.
No we are not.

Chicos: ¡Mira! Aquí viene un vendedor de helados.
Look! Here comes an ice cream vendor.

Madre: Dos helados por favor. Aquí tenéis niños.
Two ice creams please. Here you go children.

Chicos: Gracias mamá. Este es un helado bueno
Thanks mom. This is a good ice cream.

Madre: ¿Y ahora estáis bien?
And now you are good?

Chicos: Sí, lo estamos, gracias.
Yes we are, thanks.
