Interrogatives are often used to ask questions.

¿Quién, Quiénes? - who, whom?
¿Cuál, Cuáles? - which?
¿Qué? - what?
¿Cúyo, Cúya, Cúyos, Cúyas? - whose?
¿De quién, De quiénes - whose?
¿Cuánto, Cuánta, Cuántos, Cuántas? - how much, how many?
¿Dónde? - where?

Note: These interrogative words have accent marks.
Sometimes these same words are used in sentences that are
not questions, and then there is no accent mark. The accent
mark does not affect the pronunciation of these words.

¿Qué? vs. ¿Cuál? - ¿Cuál? is used in front of the verb
ser when a selection is needed. However ¿Qué? is used in front
of ser with words like día, fecha, hora, estación and mes.

Sentences
¿Qué tuvo en la caja? - What did you have in the box?
¿Qué película te gusta más? - Which movie do you like the most?
¿Cuál de las dos películas te gusta más? - Which one of the two movies do you like the most?
¿Cuál es tu número de teléfono? - What is your telephone number?
¿Qué quiso? - What did you want?
¿Qué es la fecha de hoy? - What is the date today?
¿ es tu dirección? - What is your address?
¿Para qué necesitaste la llave? - Why did you need the wrench?
¿Dónde está el museo? - Where is the museum?
¿Adónde fuiste? - Where did you go?
¿De dónde es Juan? - Where is John from?
¿Quién es el presidente de México? - Who is the president of Mexico?
¿Quiénes son los miembros del comité? - Who are the members of the committee?
¿Cuándo llegó Juan? - When did John arrive?
¿A qué hora llegó Juan? - At what hour did John arrive?
¿Cuántos libros tienes? - How many books do you have?
¿Cuánto pagaste? - How much did you pay?
¿Cuántas camisas trajiste? - How many shirts did you bring?
