Let's consider the present tense of a regular (er) verb.
The verb meaning (to run) in Spanish is (correr).

Now we take off the -er ending:
correr - er = corr

Now we add on one of the present tense endings:
o, es, e, emos, éis, en

corr + (ending) --> corro, corres, corre, corremos, corréis, corren

The present tense forms of the verb correr are shown in the table below.

yo	corro	(I run)	nosotros (as)	corremos	(we run)
tú	corres	(you run)	vosotros (as)	corréis	(you run)
Ud./él/ella	corre	(you/he/she runs)	Uds./ellos/ellas	corren	(they run)

Yo aprendo las palabras. - I learn (am learning) the words.
Juan aprende las palabras. - Juan learns (is learning) the words.
Él aprende la vocales. - He learns the vowels.
Aprendemos historia. - We learn History.
Ellos no aprenden canciones. - They don't learn songs.
Ella aprende italiano. - She learns Italian.
Yo aprendo español. - I learn Spanish.
Tú aprendes química. - You learn chemistry.
Ella no aprende los números romanos. - She doesn't learn the roman numbers.

Nosotros creemos que el niño aprende las vocales. - We believe the boy learns the vowels.

Yo no creo que Pedro es el maestro. - I don't believe Pedro is the teacher.
Yo creo que Juan conoce a la muchacha. - I think that John knows the girl.
Yo creo que ella tiene fiebre. - I believe that she has a fever.
¿Tú crees en mi? - Do you believe me?
¿Crees en Dios? - Do you beleive in God?
Ella nunca cree nada. - She never believes anything.

Nunca leemos periódicos locales. - We never read local newspapers.
Ellas leen la Prensa Libre de Guatemala. - They read Guatemala's Prensa Libre.
Juan lee el libro. - Juan reads (is reading) the book.
Siempre leo hasta muy tarde. - I always read until late at night.
Yo leo mis libros. - I read my books.
Leo el libro de él. - I read (am reading) his book.
