WARNING, DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SWINDLED! I attended this school for three weeks. The teachers are very nice and pretty good, but the director and owner of the school is a con artist. He quotes one price for tuition and accomodation on his website, asks you to put down a deposit before you arrive, but doesn't make you pay the rest until you arrive in Valencia. When you arrive, he tries to get more money out of you then what he originally quoted over the phone or via email. He has various sleazy ways of overcharging students. He usually tries to do overcharge you within the first three or four days of you arriving, so that he can catch you off guard and at your most disoriented, when you are still trying to get used to speaking spanish and finding your way around a new city. Also, he offers three types of accomodation: a single in a student apartment, a double, and a family stay, but about 75% of the students who arrive here do not receive the accomodation they want and often overcharged for accomodation. For instance, a student may ask for a double room, be told that they will receive that accomodation, and then be put in a single room when they arrive, and be charged for a single room. Also, although you pay a 70 euro "registration fee," the course materials he provides are useless, a hodgepodge of photocopies from various grammar books, and the teachers are not allowed to photocopy any other materials. I bought a grammar book at one of the book stores here at my own expense. He also lied to one of the other students I knew. Before she arrived, she emailed him and asked how many levels there were in the school. He emailed her back and replied that there were eight discrete levels. The problem is, there are only four teachers! Only four classes, and most assuredly not eight levels. Although the teachers are brilliant at making do with what they have, the other students are very nice, and Valencia is a lovely city, you should not attend this particular school unless you want to have several arguments over money with the owner while you are here. Also, if you are trying to learn spanish for some serious purpose, like for a test or for school, don't do it here. The school is much better for students who just want to learn how to get around in a spanish speaking country. if you want to study in Valencia, I met two students who went to and really liked the Galileo Galilei school, although I have no idea how it is.
