Hola Hugo Thanks very much for your good teaching. I really enjoyed every minute. We had lots of fun and learned even more. But not only Spanish but tradition in Santa Cruz - Bolivia. Hugo, the teacher was really nice, friendly and welcoming. We have had many activities besides classes. Like market tours where not just vegetables were sold but also all sort of legal and illegal animals are merchandize, ceramic, toys, medicine herbs, coca leaves, and enchantment magic. These place where ancient Aymara and Inca practice fortune telling through coca leaves, old tradition and obviously native cults gathered, this section of the market is the main attraction, there we found articles to produce the so called magic such as: amulets, stones with mystical power, color candles, magic to attract money, love gender or healthiness. Muchas gracias por todo. Luz verdeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Adios. Cassandra Johnson

´I had a little basic knowledge of the Spanish language when I entered this school and during the three weeks I attended classes I learned a lot. I enjoyed a lot the diferent methods that are used, like music, movies and computerprograms. The profesor enjoys teaching a lot, has a good sense of humor and is interested in many topics, so especially during the pauses I had the opportunity to talk about subjects I´m interested in and practice Spanish at the same moment. After three weeks I started my job as a volunteer at an orphanage, but I will certainly return to this place to learn more about this beautiful language. I can really recommand this school to study Spanish!´ marleen.bosch@hotmail.com

Thanks to everyone at Eureka group! The people were great. Thanks Anita and Hugo. They used alternative methods to teach us Spanish, popular songs, walking city market tours, pastry making, Bolivian movies, and dancing lessons. Which were very effective. My home stay family was also very friendly. I felt much more comfortable my conversational Spanish after some weeks I stayed in Santa Cruz Bolivia. Thank you ever so much. "La practica hace mejor" Simon Smith. UK Buried ST Edmond "I enjoyed the course as it was suited to my level of Spanish and Hugo was able to adapt his approach according to my progress. I felt that the course was very good at giving a solid foundation in the use of verbs, from which it will be easy to progress. I also feel that I benefited from living with the family as it allowed me to practice my Spanish a lot. The location was also very good which meant I didn´t have to worry about travelling to and from the school to my accommodation. In addition the food was very delicious, and the family was very friendly and patient with my Spanish". Simon Smith .England. Buried Saint Edmond. UK

A truly memorable experience! Tought in a relaxing setting, the teacher (Hugo) was fun energetic and extremely knowlegable, making everyday fun and challenging so that I wanted to study Spanish 24/7. The host family were lovely and very accomodating, and the cultural activities after class were a real eye-opener and added to the overall experience and value of this program. Highly recommended!

Thanks Hugo and all of you! I am proud of having lived side by side with people that just few times ago I would have considered real strangers as I could consider people living on the other side of the world respect myself. The price was definitely the main reason that persuaded me to choose this school, as well as the fact the communication by internet was fast and competent. I can not recall all I have learned in few sentences. I could resume it saying that I learnt a new way of life in an other country very much different from my previous experiences. Definitively to try this school! I felt very welcomed by all the members of the family that hosted me. I have been treated like a member of the family and they followed the progress of my studies with interests for my improvements. I really enjoyed the enthusiasm of the teaching that communicate to me real passion and involvement in what they are trying to improve every day more. Giovanni Piumatte From Torino Italy

Matt B. from Australia: Hugo was terrific and went out of his way too often to help us out. I am most glad to have attended your school and in particular to meet someone such as yourself, who to me instills the ideals of Leadership on values and Buddhist teaching in everyday life. You serve as an inspiration to me in my travels, and I thank you muchly for this. Learning IS fun, and I will be writing a separate addition to the website along the lines of the one at the bottom of the email, but I will make it more eloquent and longer. This should happen in the next week along with the photos. Again, muchos gracias, and maybe our paths will cross one day again. Matt Brebtener mattybrebs@gmail.com AUSTRALIA MAY 2010

I dont usually write these things but I feel compelled to give another five star review after having a great experience at the Aymara language school. I studied for a month and it was one of the highlights of my round the world trip. Hugo (el profesor) cares about his school and his students. He will look after you every step of the way. The family were great, food was good and I got to experience Santa Cruz in a way that most travellers dont. I also received a good insight into bolivian culture and traditions. I would recommend the school to anyone. Mark Ruiz, England.

mark-ruiz@hotmail.com United Kindom 26 05 2010 I feel much more confident when shopping, eating out and checking into accomodation. I like the language and feel inspired to learn more. I feel I know have the tools to do so. Definitely pround of my achievement. This school is great!. First there was the five star reviews! Then after I received a rapid reply I felt as they wanted me to come, the others did not reply, this one was very welcoming! The price was also a consideration for me as I am on a tight budget. The most important thing, for me, was the language. I got the certificate and I also got a educational and helpfull insight into local culture, music, food, people, the castle amazing!etc, The hardest thing for me after the the verb transformations was the order of the words. I try to listen to other peoples conversations. I'm afraid nothing comes easy to me! MUCHAS GRACIAS! Hugo and Anita Sorry I took so long to do this! I am in Sucre now. Thanks for everything. Please pass on my regards to the Bolivian family Moron: Don Juan, Doña Elba, Patricia and Mauricio.

July 4th -Amos Budde Minesota USA amos.budde@gmail.com I´m very happy to have spent two weeks in Bolivia at 1on1 spanish aymara before starting work in Tarija. I´ve gotten used to speaking here, the way people speak, the food, the accommodations, and I´ve seen many aspects of the city: rich and poor areas. I know that I still have to put in work to become fully comfortable speaking Spanish in a foreign country, but I´ve never felt more confident in my abilities after these two weeks. I´m proud that I explored the city as much as I did. It´s great to get out of the house to teach students and play soccer with them, take Micros by myself to all parts of the city. I´m proud that I met people I could spend time with and enjoy, and I´m proud that I read two books in Spanish during my two weeks here. I chose your service because it was the only school in Santa Cruz I could find that had a private tutoring program, the option for living in a home stay, and a web site that was understandable. I learned special uses and particular structures of sentences to get a more advanced understanding of the language. The most important thing I learned in the classroom was that I need a larger vocabulary, which I will try to obtain through more flashcards and reading more books. I already had a comfort speaking the language, so speaking in the classroom came naturally. The hardest skills and ideas to get are when we start changing the meaning of tenses. For example: using past tenses to describe the near future, or the future to describe something that recently happened. That makes no sense to me and is difficult to internalize. Immersion in the language is the key to becoming comfortable speaking it. That means music, tv, speaking, reading. It´s all important. I think it was appropriate for my level of Spanish. Some grammar lessons were really helpful, others seemed like they were too specific to be useful for me. I enjoyed and got a lot out of the times when we just spoke at length on a particular topic. The classroom is great. I love being outdoors, and it´s wonderful to have tea and coffee and bread right there available. The group Eureka are very good. The opportunity to work with the school will be unforgettable. Going to the Ayoreos (natives from the amazons) was good. Even though it didn´t make me practice my Spanish, I was glad to have seen what life was like for them. The services he provides are immensely helpful. I am so grateful that the teacher, Hugo, helped me get settled in Bolivia and even accompany me in the things I needed to do. It goes above and beyond anything I could have expected. I liked the field trips we went on. The classroom is great, and I have no criticisms of the teaching quality. MUCHAS GRACIAS!

STUART LOVEJOY FROM AUSTRALIA stulovejoy@hotmail.com I feel positive because everyone has been very kind and helpful while I have been here. At times I did feel like the things that were done for me (washing clothes, etc) were charged, while the things I did to contribute (pay and cook dinners occasionally, etc), I was happy to do this things, but sometimes people can feel a bit taken advantage of when they re not reciprocated. But that small thing aside, I am happy I studied and stayed here. Learning Spanish, being able to talk with people more now than I could when I started. I learnes much more Spanish, much about the Bolivian festivals and culture. My advice to other is be patient, be assertive and enjoy yourself. At times I did feel like things were a bit haphazard, and that I had to repeat some suggestions. My overall Evaluation: Good MUCHAS GRACIAS!

"Amos Budde" amos.budde@gmail.com USA BOSTON "With Hugo Vargas, learning the Spanish Language extends far beyond the classroom. If you register for his classes at his school in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, he ensures that you will have plenty of opportunities to learn and practice Spanish while out in the city, and this is in addition to the classroom hours that he provides. As a student of his, Hugo set me with an opportunity to teach math classes as the local middle school. He took me to the courthouse to see real cases, among many other adventures around Santa Cruz that we had. He even accompanied me to the city center and helped me buy a cellphone when I told him I needed it. He is warm and generous, and if you study with him, your Bolivian experience will surely be rich."

Nina Eilermann from Germany. Nov 2010 When I arrived in Santa Cruz for my first day I felt immediately at ease, Hugo come to pick me up at the airport, Anita, my host family were very kind to me and by the end of the weeks, they were like a family. I learnt a lot during my stay, not only about the language, but also about the culture. Time past very quickly I really enjoy studying at 1on1spanishaymara. I've improved so much since I started here. The people are brilliant and the field trips to Samaipata, las Cuevas and Cotoca that the school organizes are really fun. I'm extremely impressed with the effort Anita and Hugo did and am so pleased I decided to come here. All improvements in terms of the language and the experiences were fine. I've visited loads of amazing different markets tons of food! which normally I'd never have seen, and more importantly have learnt so much Spanish. The course is great and I now have so many opportunities to use the Spanish I've learnt. Also I've learnt so much about Santa Cruz Bolivia the food, the people and customs many other things. I really love my course and find the teaching very high and humorous. It was perfect place to learn. The prices for the field trips are really very good, n.eilermann@gmx.de

NOV 2010 We are two students from Sweden, Here It feels good because now I m going to enjoy the the weekend and try to use more of the Spanish I learned I encounter new people. The Bolivian magazine called siete dias the teacher introduced was very interesting for us to learn. The place was not very far, but at the swame time we got to see more of the city and it was cheap to get here by local transport called MICRO. We had our place to stay. We only took Spanish classes which was really interesting. They focused on the right part for our benefit and interest. There is a really lovely ecological atmosphere in the school many fruit trees of lots of kinds. The teacher was welcoming and friendly. Been an enjoyable learning experience. It has been really useful to study Spanish again and enlarge our experience here. The class was dynamic and good and we have made friends. It Has been suuper intensive our class 5 hours but also interesting. we felt we have progressed a lot. We have learned a lot, but there is a lot more to learn. We have achieved our goals for the these supur intensive classess. The class coverd every thing that we asked for, and more... We saw the student accomodation. The rooms were fine with windows looking at the many fruit trees. Single and clean. The teacher, Hugo, was very goodk, he was always concerned about us. He told us Bolivian jokes, at the last day of class we went to see a Castle. Imagine a castle!!!!! pejic.boris@gmail.com

I feel like i have learnt the basics and that i will just have to go out and practice and build up my Spanish vocabulary I’m happy of having learnt 30 verbs. Basic language and Bolivian culture. In your short time I learned here Basic language and Bolivian culture. It was definitely worth doing it. There was a degree of difficulty because this was our first ever Spanish lessons but I think that the way it was taught made it easier. The course content for us was a perfect introduction to Spanish. It has taught us the basics we need and has given us tools to build on what we have learnt. This schools has great principe. Helped us reach our goals set at the beginning of the week. A really effective and fun way to learn Spanish. The quality of the teaching was excellent. Hugo is a great person. He is friendly, interesting, and a great teacher of Spanish and Bolivian culture. Me gusto Gracias a t odos Ben Layce from Australia 12-1-2011 I experience we have achieved all our goals and learned a good base to continue our learning. “A very caring and respondent teacher.” “The mangoes here were delicious!!” Raymond and Ann lee USA – SAN DIEGO Ca. Feb --2011 beelann@yahoo.com I undergo that I have a much better grasp of the language. We had a nice base of vocabulary to start from but needed an overview of all the verb conjugations. We managed to get a great overview to springboard us forward. I feel that I am on my way to much easier and much better Spanish conversation. We had already spent one month in Bolivia before arriving here, but learned much more about the life, politics, and growth of the country in here. I would recommend the teaching here. It was at a very high quality by a very caring and respondent teacher. The class was challenging, but exactly what we needed. With only a couple weeks to crash through this information, it was presented and practiced with considerable ease. There was coherent progression and it appeared as if we could change it as required. <>There was good flexibility. The content was great. As we were external students we stayed outside, I have not had contact with the rest of the organization, outside of Hugo. The quality of teaching and learning moved at a great pace. Very well done!. The overall experience was excellent. Program Quality:….. Excellent Friendly atmosphere :…. Excellent Fun Factor:….. Excellent Gracias Hugo Annlee At the end of the course I have a much better understanding of sentence structure. It is also helping me to understand what I am reading in books. I can now use and understand compound sentences to express what I have done in the past and what I will do. In your short time what I have learned how the country is progressing and people are becoming more independent. Also from watching the Bolivian movies here I not only learned about Bolivia’s´ indigenous people but also about the culture. My advice to somebody who would like to come here is asking a lot of questions and don´t is afraid to make mistakes because you can only learn from them. I had some degree of difficulty in class of course, some things were more difficult but it was explained and reviewed where I understand it now. The class was definitely clear. The course content was very good Hugo was well prepared before each class and allowed us to ask many questions which were very good. Overall my rating for this school is excellent, excellent in program, friendly atmosphere, money and fun factor. Specially Bartolina!!!!

yannick_burink@hotmail.com I am Yannick From HOLLAND I am looking forward to use everything in practice! I could have learned more, all the tenses are still a bit new. In the coming weeks I need more time to organize everything in my head. I learnt a lot about the culture what Hugo showed me on the markets and texts we read about certain typical food. They inform good what kind of learning method is used in the classes. It was good to have aims at the beginning of the week. But then I learned the different tenses that were different. I certainly learned a lot, the teacher puts a lot of afford in showing the student Santa Cruz city, I liked it. I enjoyed doing bakery with some nice Bolivian people and typical pastry that was really fun!! Accommodations was better than before The program Quality ok with some impatience because I forgot something sometimes. Friendly atmosphere, they tried to do their best I felt fine . In fun factor we visited a lot, I learned a lot. For that part the Money was worth it as well as learning Gracias..

Madelon Eelderink - Holland madelon.eelderink@gmail.com The town of Santa Cruz is an ideal location city tour. There are many activities to do during your free time and the area is beautiful. The local people are friendly and seem to cater to the foreigners to a large extent. I walked most of the time with Hugo the teacher but taking a buses now and then it is much better. Some drivers were great and others not so much. There is a set fee so cheap. I really enjoyed the home stay part of my visit. I couldn’t have asked for a better family to live with. I will keep in touch in the future with my Bolivian family called La familia CASTRO: Doña, Rosario, Don Rafael , Edu and Junior . I ate most of my meals with them but there are several places to eat with a variety of food. The numerous fruits and vegetables in the markets were very good and cheap. My professor was totally competent and had the patience required to teach Spanish I came away with a much better understanding of the grammar and acquired many more information about Bolivia. I’d like to say I can now speak Spanish but I still I have to practice. As my teacher always said; practice, practice, practice makes better! There was a wide variety of activities. I enjoyed my class and we laughed often about some spanish jokes Hugo told. It was a fun atmosphere to learn in. There wasn’t the stress involved. It’s up to you as to what you get out of it. If you want to learn Spanish and have some fun you couldn’t go wrong in choosing 1on1 spanishaymara. They are always totally Bolivian and ready to serve!! Madelon Eelderink
