I attended the annex school in Rohrmoser which was simply a rented "room" in a house used by a travel agency. Luckily I was paired with a fellow student who I really learned a lot from as well as being able to hold conversations with the agency employees. My main complaint was that there was no structure to the classes as it is common for the teachers not to be paid to prepare so they just show up and "wing it" so to speak. We would be left alone for 15 to 20 minutes to work on an assignment which maybe needed 5 minutes to complete while the teacher would disappear to go use the Internet (sometimes for class prep and sometimes not). Since we were paying by the hour for instruction this was frustrating. Me and my fellow classmate ended up stopping classes and just going to lunch once a week to practice together with another friend who was fluent in Spanish. This was much more fun and cost effective.

My 12 year old son did not want to go to Costa Rica at first, but when it came time to leave he was talking about going back. Although we were only there one week, he was already communicating in Spanish.
